Quirky Characters, Student Exhibition at JTNP Black Rock Art Gallery Apr-Jun 2024

2899 *MUSD elementary school students created illustrative patches in Groundwork Arts' Quirky Character Project, inspired by Joshua Tree, CA Artist Shari Elf. 810 Patches were installed at Joshua Tree National Park's Black Rock Art Gallery in Yucca Valley CA.   *Morongo Unified School District

Shape of Color, Abstract Paintings, Student Exhibition at 29 Palms Visitor Center Jan 6 - Apr 4, 2024

Abstract paintings by *MUSD elementary school students were selected from November's Groundwork Arts' Shape of Color Project, inspired by Joshua Tree, CA Artist James O'Keefe. 40 Paintings were installed at City of 29 Palms Visitor Center in Twentynine Palms, CA, in collaboration with PAAC.   *Morongo Unified School District

Flower Songs, MesoAmerican & Mexican Musical Performances  May 2023

1500+ *MUSD elementary school students (Yucca Valley, Onaga, Twentynine Palms) took part in this musical performance using indigenous breath, percussion, and string instruments. Art Trading Cards, Student Exhibition at JTNP Black Rock Art Gallery April 2023

After teaching Groundwork Arts' Marble Maze Project inspired by Mojaveland, *Twentynine Palms Elementary School teachers took it further by allowing students to design and build their own mini-golf holes out of recycled materials.   *Morongo Unified School District

Out of the Desert, Harp & Violin Performances Nov 2022

550 Students from *Twentynine Palms Elementary had the opportunity to participate in a specially-currated performance by internationally-acclaimed musicians, Tasha Smith Godinez (harpist) and Dominico Hueso (violinist). Earth Memory Fish Flags - Student Collaboration with Artist Gerald Clarke 2022

500 Students from elementary schools in Morongo Unified School District (Twentynine Palms, Palm Vista, Yucca Valley, Morongo Valley) collaborated with Native American Multi-Media Artist Gerald Clarke, in partnership with High Desert Test Sites, to paint 500 flags of prehistoric fish that once populated the landscape inhabited in Cahuilla people.

Photo Scavenger Hunt 2021-22

6 Week Photography Class taught by Professional Photographer Heather Sprague in partnership with Arts Connection. 60 Students from *Friendly Hills Elementary School learned important photo concepts and created their own portfolio of photographs.  *Morongo Unified School District
